My little einstein
So today we were outside playing in the backyard and Brenden found a stick, which is not unusual. He then took the stick and stood it up in the grass and started saying "tree" when I realized what he was talking about, I told him he was right and was pretty impressed. Then after that he picked up the stick, held it out with both hands pointing it and saying "a potta" it took me a second to recognize that he was saying Harry Potter, I looked more closely at the stick and it really did look like a wand!! I am always so delighted to see his little imagination working. That is my brag story for the day.
Cricket

For all you Cricket fans here are some photos of her time with us so far. Enjoy!! The groomer the other day said that she was a very strong willed little puppy, great another stubborn member in my family, who would have thought it. She definitely fits in here.
Here is Cricket post bad hair cut. We let it grow out before we took her to a new groomer, one not done out of a basement.
Here she is chasing Brenden's tail, literally!! Brenden decided he wanted to be a monkey for the day and wore the outfit for about 4 hours! And Cricket spent all that time either biting his tail or going for the monkey toes. It was pretty cute.
BEWARE OF DOG!! She was very concerned about something outside, she was even growling and barked.

Um... Best Friends???... Maybe one day.

Here are Brenden's dance videos, mommy is making sure he has the right moves. :) These are the last videos i have to post because they take forever to load! This was the only way I could get them online, I tried the yahoo group site and it crashed my computer. there was one more video but after waiting almost an hour I gave up on it. It is just like this one but to a different song. Enjoy!!
Train ride in Texas with Alicia, Dawn, Calvin, and Cricket
Chocolate Easter Bunny
We bought this chocolate bunny after Easter and Brenden didn't realize that it was something to eat and not a toy. I laugh everytime I watch this.
First time blogger
So this is my first ever experience blogging! I am not that creative with writing so those that know me can laugh at/with me. :)
Not a lot is going on with us, except we got a dog almost a month ago and I think I anticipated everything that comes along with a puppy except sibling rivalry between Brenden and Cricket (the puppy). There is a lot of nipping of Brenden and a lot of swinging punches and kicking of Cricket by Brenden. I spend a majority of my day punishing one or the other and separating them frequently. I am thinking that getting a puppy during the terrible two's was not the smartest of ideas. But then there are moments when they curl up together on our bed and just snuggle with each other and give each other kisses and that makes up for the crazy times.
I am keeping myself busy with the day to day and taking care of "the kids". I told Matt the other day that mostly I am cleaning up after myself! Who knew you could make so much damage in a single day all by yourself! Brenden keeps his toys mainly in the toy room and Cricket is almost house trained so really the mess is all me. I have a lot of projects to take care of now that it is Spring and they mostly sit in the house until there is a nice enough day outside and we can go out and do the yard work. Currently I have two Rose bushes, a Hydrangia, a box of Calla Lilly bulbs, and a box of Hosta bulbs on my kitchen counter just waiting for me to figure out where to plant them in the gardens. Hopefully I'll have the gardening done in the next two weeks.
Matt is working at the VA for the months of April and May with a vacation the week of April 28th. During his vacation week we will be at his parents home in Florida! We are excited to go and are getting scuba certified for the trip. Now we will be able to go on all the scuba adventures we want. Matt is extremely excited for the vacation and to get certified.
While we are in Florida we will be celebrating Brenden's second birthday!! I don't have anything planned but you know me, totally low key. We'll just have a nice day of swimming and cake. When we get back I'll let him open his big presents that I don't want to pack.
So that is the Jones family right now. I hope my entry wasn't too boring. Enjoy the photos.
